WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT
I want to welcome you to The National Teachers College. TNTC received operational authorization from the Ohio Department of Higher Education in August, 2018. During the past couple of years we have put people and operations in place to launch our innovative programs. Our goal is to offer select graduate programs that are aimed at increasing the success of all K-12 students by helping teachers - those seeking initial licensure and those who are practicing - work within the emerging paradigm of 21st Century education. We know so much more now about how children and adolescents learn and, therefore, about how they should be taught. Students’ needs, interests and development must be merged with hands-on, conceptual teaching. Experience and authenticity must live at the heart of the curriculum. We need to honor each student’s individuality while providing each with the sophisticated understandings and skills necessary to thrive in a global society. And we must prepare them for a future not yet imagined. As
President, I am committed to helping The National Teachers College achieve these goals.
Our Teacher Resident Program is our flagship program - different from typical teacher resident programs because ours is fully site-based and features an exclusive partnership with a local K-12 school. This is a full-time, intensive, one year program that leads to the master's degree and state teaching license. We partner with eligible schools around the country to provide this exceptional program.
Similarly, we also offer a part time master's program to teachers who are currently working - the Fellows Program. We know that the needs of teachers vary and we use a site-based, cohort model to craft a curriculum that meets the particular goals, interests and needs of each cohort.
I welcome students who share our commitment to success, our love of scholarship and our passion for teaching.
