Founded for Innovation Few colleges are founded to explicitly address the K-12 learner through its teacher education programs. That and our models of delivery make TNTC different from other colleges. Teachers are more essential than ever and successful teaching has never been more imperative. Those seeking initial teacher licensure, as well as current teachers seeking advanced degrees, should have access to programs that go beyond those typically available. To provide the most relevant and authentic programs calls for innovation and bold steps. It calls for out-of-the box thinking and for non-traditional approaches to teacher education. The National Teachers College was founded to provide the institutional structure necessary to meet these objectives and our collective goal is to provide the best possible education for our own graduate students and for the K-12 students they serve. Explore our two M.Ed. programs - the Fellows Program for current teachers and our distinctive Teacher Resident Program for Urban Teaching for those seeking an initial teaching license and who are interested in teaching in an urban setting. Mission Statement: “Dedicated to the education of K-12 learners, the mission of The National Teachers College is to enrich the professional practice of existing classroom teachers and to provide an innovative, site-based apprenticeship program for the initial preparation of teachers.
