ADMISSIONS TO DEGREE PROGRAMS

The Admissions Office of The National Teachers College oversees admissions procedures and applications for those interested in any of the College’s programs. The College is responsible for admitting students and for conducting transfer-of-credit and life experience evaluations for students as they are admitted. The College is authorized to grant the master's degree and to recommend authorization for the teaching license in each state for which it is authorized and as identified on this website. The formal application process begins with the completion of an application file for either degree program or available professional development offerings. The application file for the degree programs includes a completed application form, a resume, official transcripts and three letters of recommendation.
Teacher Resident Program Admissions Requirements
TNTC is currently accepting applications for the Teacher Resident Program with a start date of June 2, 2025.
Candidates applying to the Teacher Resident Program will identify the partner
school(s) where they are interested in apprenticing. A visit to each chosen site is a requirement of the application process. The nature of a year long teacher resident program virtually mandates that there be a good “fit” for both the school and the teacher candidate. This visit includes a tour of the building, visits to classrooms in the grade level of licensure, and informal meetings with the school’s administration, mentors and current graduate student teachers.
Strong candidates are asked to return to the site school for a third and final interview. This is a panel interview composed of three to five people and includes the Program Director from the site school and mentor teachers. Final acceptance determinations are made by this panel. Applicants are notified of admissions decisions by email.
Persons seeking admission to the College’s Teacher Resident Teacher Program - master’s degree with state teaching licensure - must meet the following requirements:
Candidates who are accepted are required to provide a $500.00 deposit to hold one's spot at the site where accepted. That deposit is applied, in full, against the summer tuition.
