FOUNDED IN CLEVELAND TO CHANGE THE LANDSCAPE OF TEACHER EDUCATION(1).jpg

THE NATIONAL TEACHERS COLLEGE

Great Teachers Start Here.
Prepared in Schools. Powered by Purpose.

ROOTED IN EQUITY. DRIVEN BY IMPACT. BUILT FOR COMMUNITY.

Our Mission

At The National Teachers College, we put students first—our graduate students and the K–12 learners they serve.  We believe every student deserves to feel a deep sense of belonging, to be valued, and to be empowered to thrive. Our mission is to provide innovative degree programs, transformative teacher preparation, and ongoing professional learning that equip educators to teach and lead with success.

Our Vision

Our vision is a future where every classroom is a place of belonging, curiosity, and possibility—led by educators who are deeply prepared, purpose-driven, and committed to the success of every learner. The National Teachers College envisions a national network of empowered teachers transforming education through innovation, equity, and community.

Our History

The National Teachers College is a new private college founded in Cleveland, Ohio.  The College was founded to give us the autonomy to carry out our mission and vision. Our goal is to establish a national network of graduate programs designed to empower teachers to successfully advance the education of all students – especially those in under-served communities.  We partner exclusively with local K-12 schools in select cities to carry out our programs.

Our programs are not new. They are based on 25 years of work with site-based, apprenticeship, residency models (now our CAP Program) and on our work with teachers in our partner schools

seeking advanced education through an M.Ed. degree (our Fellows Program).

They represent proven, successful models that we brought to TNTC.

Our programs are rooted in achieving equity for America’s students by preparing teachers who are committed to success for all students.  We have lived the impact that this kind of program can have in a school and on its students. Through implementation of our programs in K-12 schools and our partnerships with area stakeholders, we build a community of educators striving to bring quality education to every learner, everywhere.

Scholarship, Commitment, Passion

Scholarship:  Akin to the fields of law and medicine, teaching is a profession with

scholarship at its core.

Commitment:   To achieve 21st Century goals, teachers must be committed to every student – to their academic success and personal growth – regardless of who that student is

or what that student brings to the classroom.

Passion:  Passion is what inspires us; it’s what makes us genuine and drives us to be better.

Vibrant, thriving classrooms are filled with teachers and students

who are passionate about what they are doing.

MEET THE LEADERSHIP TEAMS

Meet our Executive Board, Advisory Board and those who have been instrumental in founding the College.

THE POWER OF
SITE-BASED MODELS

There's no substitute for hands-on training in the field.  In our site-based programs, TNTC brings the college to the classroom where the K-12 school becomes a learning laboratory. The K-12 school is the site where classroom teachers, college faculty and teachers-in-training work collaboratively to advance their understanding of teaching and learning and to meet the challenge of providing an exemplary education for every student.

Assignments are carried out in your classroom.  The curriculum allows you to choose an area of concentration to further your expertise.  Take advantage of the power of in-person instruction as you study and build community with a cohort of peer teachers.

PARTNERSHIPS

Teaching is complicated.  To meet today's challenges for success requires a collaborative effort from strategic partners across the spectrum.  Foremost for TNTC are its partnerships with the K-12 schools that host its CAP program, along with agencies and foundations that support such initiatives.
