Terri Garfinkel

Terri Garfinkel is a life-long educator and teacher extraordinaire.  She began
her teaching career as a public school kindergarten teacher and continued to
educate and motivate young people throughout her career.  Always inspired
and inspiring, Garfinkel was eager to try new approaches and to lead her students to learn                    deeply.

Children were not the only beneficiaries of Garfinkel's expertise, however.  She
mentored newly hired colleagues and teacher apprentices - helping them negotiate the

nuances of being a successful teacher.

Garfinkel has won multiple awards during her career and has served on a variety of
boards including Laurel School's Board of Director and Case Western Reserve University's

     Center for Women.

Garfinkel was a Lindseth Fellow and received her Master's Degree from Ursuline College,                      Cleveland, Ohio.  She received her B.S. in Primary Education from Mills College of Education in            New York City, and an Associates Degree in Kindergarten Education from Marjorie Webster Junior      College in Washington, D.C.
